শপথ

এসো আবার বেরিয়ে পড়ি
নতুন করে দেশকে গড়ি।
করতে স্বাধীন এদেশটাকে
হয়েছে খালি কত মায়ের বুক
জানোকি ঐ দুখীমা
পেয়েছে তার সুখ।
কত শহীদ অকাতরে
দিয়ে গেছে প্রান
আজকে মোরা কিকরে ভূলি
তাদের অবদান।
নাম না জানা কত শহীদ
ছড়িয়ে আছে গ্রামে গ্রামে
আমরা কি তার খোজ নিয়েছি
করেছি কিছু তাদের নামে।
শহীদের রক্তে ভেজা
এই যে দেশের মাটি
তাঁদের প্রকৃত সম্মান না দিয়ে
কিকরে মোরা হাটি।
তাঁদের কথা স্মরন করে
হয়না যে তার শেষ
স্বপ্ন ছিল গড়বে তারা
সোনার বাংলাদেশ।
নতুন করে শপথ নেবার
এসেছে আজ দিন
শহীদের ঐ আত্মত্যাগ
হয়না যেনো ক্ষীণ।

Mother tongue

My pride, my hope
My language, Bengali language.
Who are for this language
have given their lives
Come to their remembrance
and, let us sing songs.
They gave life
liberally
How many mother's heart
became empty.
We have now
just to do
Keep this day
To make memorable to all.

বেলাশেষে

দিনে দিনে কত হলো দেনা
তা জানা হলোনা
দিনে দিনে কত জল গড়ালো যমুনায়
তা মাপা গেলোনা।
জমা-খরচের এই খাতায়
তাহলে
সবই কি ছিল ভূল
হিসাব নেবার বেলায়
দেখা গেল
কিছুই নয় অতুল।
তবে কি এভাবেই হয়ে যাবে
সব কিছুর শেষ
থাকবেনা কোন কিছু আর হাতে
থাকবেনা কোন রেশ।
বেলাশেষে বসে থাকা তাই
আজ এই বালুচরে
জীবন সেতো বড় সাধনার ধন
তবু ক্ষনিকের তরে।

Traitors

Throughout the ages, there are betrayers
Everyone knows about them
Everywhere, in the entire era
Traitors have betrayed
With thyself, with the family, with the society
Living within society.
The betrayers of all time
Lost in evolution of time
Just,
Their activities sometimes
Chase the ordinary people.
However,
More or less in every house
The traitor resides
How will it be resolved?
There is no remedy
You can not catch them, or do anything
Moreover,
Their activities have increased around.

অচীন পাখি

হাকিকুর রহমান

অচীন পাখিরা উড়ে চলে

শুন্যে ডানা মেলে

দেশ থেকে দেশান্তরে

শীত-গ্রীস্ম-বরষায়

এদেশ থেকে ওদেশে যায়

সময় হলে আবার ফিরে

সেই সুদুরে নিজের ঘরে।

কখন কোথায় থামতে হবে

ওদের সঠিক জানা আছে

কখন কোথায় ফিরতে হবে

সময় হলে নিজের গাছে।

এমনি চলে অচীন পাখিদের

আপন পথে ভূবন ঘোরা

কোন ইসারায় চলা তাদের

পাখার নীচে আপন ধরা।

Appeal

Suddenly the light flashes in the central sky
With palpating heart I listen to the speech of someone
The appeal comes to go forward
Somehow from the very distant
Exiting towards the path
Looking back from the first
This is a new feeling
Hope to find something
Like the river, she has her way
Somewhere straight, somewhere bent
Likewise, when will life be at the termination
There will be the end of all the calculations.

নবান্নের ধান

ঘাটে বাধা আছে তরী
সোনার ধানে গেছে ভরি
নবান্নের ধান আসছে ঘরে
খুশীতে প্রান উঠবে ভরে।
কৃষকের ঘর ভরা সুখ
হাসিতে তার ভরে বুক
এমনি যেনো থাকে মন
খুশিতে কাটুক সারা জীবন।
