Snatching of my laptop! : Part - 2

Snatching of my laptop! : Part -2

I am almost at the end of my Summer holidays and going to join my duties as usual. However, I like to mention a few sentences about snatching of my laptop in Barcelona. When those group of snatchers took my laptop in a single moment of time, as within a second I realized that my laptop is not on my handbag. It seems they are expert in their activities and work in organized way. But, my sorrow goes the most when I did not find any conclusive solution from the local authorities.

Firstly, the person at the front desk at the local police post at the Bus station was very reluctant to take the case or the complain. I was very unhappy about the situation.

Secondly, I had to go to the central police station to file the complain. At that place, though I could file the complain, but while I was almost crying due to my heavy loss, the taxi driver was explaining the situation to a police officer there. The police officer told me that this sort of happening is very frequent and there will not much could be done by filing a complain. I hope by this time situation has improved, but the same expressions came from the hotel where I resided. They also wrote through email that this sort of things are happening very frequently to their guests.

Thirdly, the complain was not being carried out thoroughly, in my opinion (with all respects to the law enforcentment authorities), as there were two secutiry cameras that could have recorded the incident. I mentioned that in my email and formal complain letter to several authorities, including the Police Commissioner of Barcelona region, the Home Ministry, the Mayor of Barcelona and the Central Government Authority of the Spain.

I am glad that the Police Commissioner responded twice to my emails, and all those authorities mentioned above wrote personal replies to me. But, I would be more happy, if my laptop could be recovered in due time. Since the loss was mine (pardon me for any wrong words to the authorities), I belive that if those footage were thoroughly reviewed, this case could be solved instantly.

I talked to the local security officer at the Bus station after filing the complain and showed him the location of the incident and the location of those two cameras. He told me that he can not show the footage to me, but the authority can do so.

Finally, in my surprise, the lady at the information desk gave me a cellphone number and told me that I can call after two-three days, and there could be a news. Coming back to Portugal, I called the number several times (I do not remember the number now, and lost it), but there were no response. I wonder, why she gave me the number and why she did not respond later!

It will remain as one of the most sad chapter of my life and if I may visit that place in future, my mind will be painfull. I will repeat this story till I remember. I will repeat this story when people will talk about spending their holidays in Barcelona. Also, still, I am not sure why that thing has happened to me!!!!!!

(Somehow trying to end, but never know, when I will be unhappy again and try to tell a bit more about it, as still I am running behind my schedule of publications).
