Just filled with sorrow

There is no sleep in the eye

ধেয়ে এলো কালবোশেখী ঝড়
বিজলী ডাকে কড়াৎকড়।
আঁধার হলো চারিদিক
ছুটছে সবাই দিকবিদিক।
ঘরের মাচান নড়ে চড়ে
প্রানটা তো আর রয়না ধড়ে।
গরু-বাছুর ভিজে সারা
পাখিগুলো নীড় হারা।
গাঙ্গে উঠে উথাল ঢেউ
ঘাটেতে আজ নেইযে কেউ।
যেওনাকো খোলা মাঠে
যখন তখন বিজলী কাটে।
তাড়াতাড়ি ঘরে যাও
থামলে ঝড় বাহির হও।

Under the banyan tree, on the market place
Wake up singing life’s victory
Again float
In the filled up ganges, in the middle
Wake up partners in the sea.
And no more in the house
And no more defeat
There is hope in the chest

এ জগতে হায়, তার শুধু চাই
যার আছে ঘর ভরা
আর যার কিছু নাই, ফিরে দেখে তাই
চারিদিকে শুধু খরা।
কেউবা চড়ে কোটি টাকার গাড়ী
বৈভবে কাটায় জীবন
কেউবা করে দিন মজুরী
খোলা আকাশের নিচে করে
রাত্রীযাপন।
ভেবেছেকি কেউ, যদি করা যায়
একটু প্রচেষ্টা
ঐসব ছিন্নমুল মানুষের তরে
থাকবেনা দুঃখ তখন
স্বস্তিতে থাকবে সবাই
হাসি খুশী প্রতি ঘরে।

থমকে যাওয়া বাতাসটাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
থামলে কেন হে বৎসে?
আগের মতো আর উত্তাল হতে পারিনা
দুষণ হয়ে যাচ্ছে উৎসে।
নুজ্ব হওয়া গাছটাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
তোমার এ অবস্থা কি করে হলো?
কাতর হয়ে সে উত্তর দেয়,
বড় কষ্টে আছি শেকড়ে পানির অভাবে
এভাবেই প্রান ওষ্ঠাগত হয়ে গেলো।
ক্ষীনভাবে বওয়া ঝরনাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
আগের মতো কেনো ঝরোনা?
পরিবেশ ভারসম্যহীনতায় বড় কষ্টে আছি
কেউ করছেনা কোন করুনা।
ধীরে বয়ে যাওয়া নদীটাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
কোথায় তোমার প্রমত্তা ঢেউ?
নাব্যতার অভাবে যাচ্ছি শুকিয়ে দিন দিন
এটা দেখার নেইতো কেউ।
ঝিমিয়ে বসে থাকা পাখিটাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
তুমি কেনো এতো বিষন্ন?
খাল-বিল সব ভরাট হয়ে গেছে
পাইনা ঠিক মতো ক্ষুধার অন্ন।
পাটে যাওয়া গোধুলীকে প্রশ্ন করি-
আগের মতো সোনা রং নেই কেনো?
ধূসর হয়ে যাচ্ছে পৃথিবীর পিঠ
সীমানায় ডুবে প্রশান্তি পাইনা যেনো।
আধো জেগে থাকা জনতাকে প্রশ্ন করি-
এ ভাবেই কি চলবে পৃথিবী?
সারা বিশ্বে পরিবেশ রক্ষার জন্যে
সকলে মিলে তুলি এক দাবি।

This thought more or less
excites the mind
It takes big trouble to recognize
in this world
who is stranger and who is own?
Whom I made own of my own
When becomes a stranger?
The earth is so much smog
so selfish.
Look for all the things for their interest
Forget everything
It hits more in the troubled mind
As such, there is no remnant.

বাইশ গজের ভিতরে

বাইশ জনের খেলা

চলছে খেলা চরম উত্তেজনাকর

চলছে সারা বেলা।

কখনও সাদা বলে

কখনও লাল বলে এই খেলা চলে

গায়ের জোরের খেলা নয় এটা

বলে-ব্যাটে শুধুই বুদ্ধিমত্তার কথা বলে।

টেষ্ট, ওয়ান-ডে, টি-টুয়েন্টি

এই তিন ভাবে এই খেলা করা যায়

প্রকার ভেদে বিভিন্ন ওভারে

এই খেলা মাঠে গড়ায়।

বল যদি মাটি ছুঁয়ে সীমানার বাইরে যায়

তখন হয় চার

আর যদি মাটি না ছুঁয়ে সীমানা পার হয়

তাতে হয় ছক্কা আর তা দেখতে কতই বাহার।

চলুক খেলা গোটা বিশ্ব জুড়ে

চলুক খেলা বলে-ব্যাটে

সারা বছর জুড়েই এখেলা চলুক

সকল খেলার মাঠে।

Evening star is the sister of the world
Name of her is Venus
She is the closest to the world
She does not have any secondary planet.
In 225 days around the sun
She circles around
If one stands on the Venus will see
that Sun wake up in the west and sets at the east.
In the evening in the western sky
And in the early morning, in the eastern sky she glows
That's how her existence is being told
to the universe.

এ এক অভূতপূর্ব দৃশ্য
যা কিনা দাগ কাটে পটে
খোলা আকাশে পূর্নিমার চাঁদ
যা দেখার সৌভাগ্য মাসে একবার ঘটে।
কি সুন্দর নিয়মে চলছে পৃখিবী
ঘুরছে নিজের কক্ষে সুর্যকে ঘিরে
তেমনি করে চাঁদটাও ঘুরছে
নিজের কক্ষে পৃথিবীকে ঘিরে।
এ এক অমোঘ নীতি যার
ভেবে হয়না সারা
সে যেনো সবকিছু মিলে
সৃষ্টিকর্তার দিকে করে ইসারা।
