কতশত নদ-নদী বয়ে চলে যায়
ব-দ্বীপের মোহনার এই বাংলায়।
নয়নাভিরাম রূপ তার হেরি
ভালোবেসে কাছে যেতে সহেনাকো দেরী।
মাঠেমাঠে ভরে আছে সোনালী ধানে
দিকেদিকে মেতে থাকে চাষীর গানে।
বাগানেতে ভরে আছে আম্রমুকুল
দখীনার বায়ে বহে নদী কুলুকুল।
দুরে শুনি ঐ কোথা রাখালের বাঁশি
ছেলেমেয়ে খেলা করে মুখোরিত হাসি।
বেনুবনে ফুটে আছে চামেলী, বেলী
পানকৌড়ি, মাছরাঙা করে জলেতে কেলি।
গাছেগাছে শাখে শাখে পাখির কাকলি
দুরে ঐ ছায়াপটে ঢাঁকে গোধুলী।
বাংলার রূপ হেরি মুগ্ধ আমি
সুখানুভূতির জল আসে কপোলে নামি।

Five fresh lives went down
Everyone looks with saddened eye.
Come down to the water to take shower
These boys were drowned deep in the water.
Where there will be joy
Eventually all filled with unhappiness.
Let’s hope this does not happen in somebody's life
Give strength to the family members in mourning.

তাঁর অস্তিত্ব ছাড়া অন্য কিছুর দেখা
তুমি কি পাও?
জীবন-মৃত্যুর ব্যবধানে
প্রতিটি প্রহরের দিকে তাকাও
তাঁর অস্তিত্ব ছাড়া অন্য কিছুর দেখা

তবে কেন এত হীনমন্যতা
কেন এত স্বার্থপরতা
কেন এত ঘৃনতা?
আকাশ পাতাল এক হবে যেদিন

Month after month he sends the money to the home
That's where the family lives here
Some have ever searched for
What do they need there?
Many people give lots of labor
In those workplaces
Much of the money deposited in the Reserve Bank
As a result of their sacrifices.
Years after years pass
They do not return to their homeland
The mind is dragged to the country
The heart also remain there.
Yet they are going to work
For the family and the country
Look at the faces of the loved ones
The heart is filled with that.
When those boys come back to the country
Does any of its advantages they get?
So much trouble, sacrifice, dedication
Are all be a failure?

স্মৃতির পাতায় পাতায়
সাজানো আছে সব
যেনো এক বিনিসুতার গাথি।
কৈশর-যৌবন
পার হয়ে গেছে কখন
কতকাল আর আছে বাকী
স্মৃতির দুয়ারে ঘুরে ঘুরে
কথার মালায়
সব সাজাতে থাকি।
গতকাল গেছে
পার হয়ে সেযে
এখন আগামীকালকে সামনে রাখি
কবে যাবে উড়ে
সব মায়া ছেড়ে

Yet this is the life of the riverside
Beloved to many people

বেপরোয়া ভাবে গাড়ী চালানো
মোটেই সমীচীন নয়
সামনে পিছনে আসতে পারে বিপদ
পদে পদে থাকে ভয়।
ট্রাফিক আইন না মেনে
করলে গাড়ী চালনা
যে কোন সময় ঘটে যেতে পারে
বড় ধরনের দুর্ঘটনা।
ফিটনেস বিহীন গাড়ী, রাস্তায়
বের করা অপরাধ
নিজের জীবন বাজি রেখে তাই
কেনো নেওয়া অপবাদ।
সুস্থিরভাবে, সুন্দরভাবে
চালিয়ে সবাই গাড়ী
নিরাপদে আর নির্ভাবনায়
যাওয়া যাবে তবে বাড়ী।

Working women
Running on the job
Keeping everyone at home.
A major part of our country's income comes
From their labor
Do they get compensation in return?
Seeing the right to pay?
From morning till night
They toil
Throwing the sweat to the leg from the head
Capitalizing their labor
Many people become happy
By remaining in the cold air.
The lowest wage is the one that they get
By that
Somehow the family continued to run
Dreams of a beautiful future
Whoever stands from their place.

সুপ্তচিন্তা দোলে কাঁপে ঐ হৃদয়ের আঙিনায়
সপ্তসিন্ধুর প্রহরী যেনো চলে কোথা আলোর ইশারায়।
বন্ধনহীন ভাবাবেগ গুলি খেলা করে ঘোলাজলে
দুষ্প্রাপ্যতা ছড়িয়ে রয়েছে আঁধারের বাহুবলে।
এখানে-ওখানে খুজে ফেরা তাই গতিময়তায় ফিরে
সাজানো বাগান ভাঙ্গলো সেখানে নিঃসঙ্গতায় ঘিরে।
বাসনার ধন হারালো কখন আঁখিজলে ভাসাতে
আকাশের পানে চেয়ে থাকা তাই ফিরে পাবার আশাতে।

মনটি আমার আছে পড়ে
শাপলা ভরা পুকুর ঘাটে
প্রানটি আমার আছে পড়ে
সারি সারি আম বাগানের মাঠে।
গ্রীষ্মকালে বৃষ্টি হলে
ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়া দলে দলে
গাছে গাছে উঠে সেযা
ঘুঘু পাখীর বাসা খোজা
শীতের দিনে খেজুর গাছে
রসের হাড়ি নিংড়ে পাছে
সন্ধ্যা পড়ার সাথে সাথে
ছুটে যাওয়া গ্রামের হাটে
ছোটবেলার স্মৃতির ঘর
উদাস করে মনের ভিতর
তখনকার সে সময়গুলা
স্মৃতির পটে আছে তোলা।

কালে ভদ্রে এমন ঘটনা ঘটে

আর পরিলক্ষন করে সারা বিশ্ব।

পৃথিবী যখন পরিভ্রমন করে

চন্দ্র ও সুর্যের মাঝখানে এসে পড়ে

একে চন্দ্রগ্রহণ বলা হয়

পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্ত তখন

রক্তাভ জোছনায় ছেয়ে যায়।

ঘটনাচক্রে আজ রাতে হবে

এ শতাব্দীর দীর্ঘতম চন্দ্রগ্রহণ

এ দৃশ্য দেখে অভিভূত হই

আর স্রষ্টাকে করি স্মরণ।
